Project Overview

Northern Heritage Roofing was engaged to replace the original slate roof on an end-terraced property in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. The existing roof, over 100 years old, showed signs of age-related deterioration and required structural attention before re-roofing. We supplied and installed new natural Spanish slate, along with essential joinery repairs to restore and strengthen the roof’s framework.

Scope of Work

• Careful removal of existing slate roof
• Structural joinery repairs, including splicing and strengthening the spar feet
• Realignment and straightening of the ridge tree
• Installation of breathable felt and treated battens
• Supply and fixing of natural Spanish slate
• New leadwork to chimneys and abutments
• Final inspection and tidy-up
