Project Overview

Northern Heritage Roofing was commissioned to upgrade the ridge system on a large 20-year-old detached property in Berwick-Upon-Tweed. While the property's slate roof remained in good condition, the existing wet (mortar-based) ridge was showing signs of failure, including cracking and dislodged ridge tiles. The homeowner opted for a maintenance-free, ventilated dry ridge system to improve both performance and longevity.

Scope of Work

• Careful removal of the old mortar ridge system
• Inspection of ridge structure and preparation of ridge line
• Supply and installation of a new grey dry ridge system
• Mechanical fixing of ridge tiles in accordance with BS 8612 standards

Challenges & Solutions
